”It has been our pleasure to work with Showcase PSR over a number of years for the supply and installation of furniture across multiple projects. Throughout our partnership, Leo and the team have consistently demonstrated exceptional professionalism, technical knowledge, and a proactive approach to customer service. Their deep understanding of products and commitment to supporting us through warranty and aftercare processes has been particularly valued.

Most recently, Showcase PSR were instrumental in the successful delivery of our two new Headington Hill buildings. The team invested significant time and expertise during the early stages, guiding us through product selection, fabric finishes, and specification choices. Their insight not only enhanced the design and functionality of the spaces but also ensured we achieved the best possible value through careful cost engineering.
The installation phase was managed with efficiency and professionalism, even in the face of considerable logistical challenges — including the absence of a working lift. Showcase PSR worked with Willmott Dixon, the primary contractor to coordinate the complex deliveries on time, within budget and with minimal disruption. Their proactive approach to snagging ensured that every detail was addressed without quibbles.
Despite the complexities inherent in the project — some of which we introduced ourselves — Showcase PSR’s dedication, flexibility, and unwavering focus on quality made the entire process as smooth as possible.
I have no hesitation in recommending Showcase PSR, and I look forward to continuing our relationship on future projects.
In 2022, Oxford Brookes University received planning permission to create new Teaching and Workshop buildings on its Headington Hill site.
Designed to support teaching, engineering, and collaborative research, the new facilities aimed to enhance student experiences, strengthen local partnerships, and meet evolving industry needs.
The milestone project was successfully handed over in early 2025, earning high praise from the client, students, and faculty alike. Keen to utilise our expertise from the outset, Oxford Brookes and ADP Architects invited the PSR team into the project at its earliest stages.
Tasked with designing, supplying, and installing £1.1 million worth of furniture, we transformed blank spaces into inspiring hubs where students and faculty could thrive.
The project’s unique specialist areas, including engineering workshops, high-tech labs, flexible teaching spaces, and creative collaboration zones, required a creative approach to design, ensuring that every space was fit for purpose while maintaining a modern aesthetic.
Scope & Services
Showcase PSR played a hands-on role, working closely with stakeholders to refine space planning, test layouts, and specify durable, high-performance furniture solutions. We aligned the design with the University’s vision…
Taking the lead on key design responsibilities, we developed immersive 3D models that helped the client visualise finishes, coordinate details, and prevent clashes before installation even began.
Stretching from the ground floor to the top of the teaching building is the standout grand central atrium. This expansive, light-filled space became a focal point for our design process. We specified furniture that not only complemented the openness of the atrium but also added visual impact from every angle. The result was a cohesive, elevated aesthetic that integrates with the architecture while encouraging connection and collaboration across floors.
Each space came with its own distinct requirements. Flat-floor teaching areas needed a high-density stacking table system, enabling smooth transitions for exams without additional furniture. Specialist labs and engineering spaces required robust, high-performance solutions, while faculty offices, breakout zones, and social areas had to strike a balance between comfort, aesthetics, and practicality.
To achieve this, we sourced furniture from a diverse range of manufacturers, including Steelcase, Orangebox, Interstuhl, Bisley, Naughtone, and more – ensuring the perfect fit for every environment.
Success Points
Early engagement and thoughtful management of the design process allowed us to future-proof Oxford Brookes University’s investment, ensuring the spaces could evolve to meet the changing needs of students and faculty. This foresight resulted in a highly adaptable learning environment, capable of supporting both current and future demands.
By delivering over 80% of products directly from manufacturers to site, Showcase PSR helped reduce unnecessary transport emissions and storage costs, significantly minimising the project’s carbon footprint.
Since its completion, the new spaces have been embraced wholeheartedly by students and faculty, who have provided overwhelmingly positive feedback.
We are extremely proud to have combined design expertise with practical problem-solving and execution in order to ensure Oxford Brookes’ vision came to life on time, on budget, and built for the future.
